Goggomobil in Garden

Ink and Watercolor on Paper
Goggomobil was a brand of microcars that were introduced in 1955. The Goggomobil was built by the German automotive company Glas. Over a nearly 15 year production span, four main models were created: the T Sedan, TS Coupe, Transporter, and Dart. These cars all shared the same rear-engined platform, available with different displacement straight twin engines. Production of the Goggomobil ended in 1969.
Last year I did a drawing of a restored Goggomobil TS Coupe in a showroom in Germany. This was something we stumbled upon. Somehow, I like the chubbiness of these autos.
The Goggomobil T250 was a conventional-looking two door sedan with a rear-mounted 245 cc air-cooled two-stroke straight twin engine. I bought a model of this car and placed it in our neighbor’s garden to do this drawing.
This drawing took me about 6 weeks to complete. I don’t have any plans to do another microcar in the garden, unless I stumble on something new or different that inspires me.
